  • Do you work with families?

    Yes! We do both in-community and in-office work with families.

    If you are involved in an immediate life-threatening situation, emergency, or any serious behavioral health problem that, if not given immediate professional attention, could lead to you or your child being harmed or possibly harming someone else, please dial 911.

    National Suicide Prevention Lifeline (call 1-800-273-8255 or call, text, or chat 9-8-8)


    The Lifeline provides 24/7 free and confidential support for people during emergencies. The Lifeline also helps specific groups, such as youth, loss survivors, veterans, LGBTQ+, and more, cope with suicidal thoughts.


    NJ Hopeline (call 1-855-654-6735)

    The NJ Hopeline has specialists available 24/7 who offer counseling and support over the phone.


    2nd Floor Youth Helpline  (call or text 1-888-222-2228)

    2NDFLOOR is a confidential helpline for New Jersey’s youth that helps find solutions to problems they face at home, at school, or at play.

  • Will PerformCare take my insurance?

    Partners of PerformCare are committed to providing FREE, voluntary services in a family-driven, community-based environment that builds on the family's unique strengths, values, voice, and resources.


    Please note that access to our in-community services provided under PerformCare requires you to complete a Medicaid application. In doing so, your family may be found eligible for Medicaid as secondary insurance, or your child may be approved for state funds that cover the cost of certain behavioral health services to supplement your private insurance benefits.

  • What is the eligibility for in-community services through PerformCare?

    Youth who are eligible for services through PerformCare are primarily between the ages of 5 and 21 (up to their 21st birthday), reside in the State of New Jersey, and have an emotional or serious mental health or behavioral need. Special consideration for services is given to children under the age five.

  • Will I get charged for calling PerformCare?

    There is no charge for calling PerformCare. The services we recommend are authorized without regard to income, private health insurance, or eligibility for Medicaid/NJ FamilyCare or other health benefits programs. When your child is registered for services at PerformCare, you will be asked to provide details about your insurance coverage.
